A Specific Type Of Alert You Should Be Using

Setting Alerts on Options

As the summer continues, so does our summer school series.

Last week we talked about setting a price alert in thinkorswim® (TOS). Today I will show you how to place a different kind of alert.

Most of us place alerts based on the underlying price of the S&P futures, apple stock, or the QQQ ETF. Whatever that symbol may be, most of the time, what we’re most proficient at is setting an alert based on the price of that future, stock, or option.

However, we need to be familiar with another kind of alert.

We’re usually buying and selling the option on the indices or stocks. Well, we could place alerts based on the value of the option. Now you might ask, when might this be useful?

Today’s video is a step-by-step of how we do this on TOS.
